This composite material is composed of cordierite, mullite and glass phases. It features excellent thermal shock resistance, is suitable for normal and high temperature bearings, and offers a long service life. It is the optimal refractory material used in kiln furniture and kiln construction for temperatures below 1300°C.
The cordierite mullite hollow and solid plates are commonly used in sanitary tunnel kilns and shuttle kilns to connect pieces of pillars and provide support.
