Rock Wool Board is a high-performance, inorganic insulation material manufactured from natural volcanic rock, typically basalt or diabase, and recycled slag. The raw materials are melted at extreme temperatures (approximately 1,500°C) and then spun into fine fibers using a centrifugal process. These fibers are then bonded with a thermosetting resin and formed into rigid or semi-rigid boards.
External thermal insulation rock wool board is specially designed for external thermal insulation composite system. It has the quality of high tensile strength, good dimensional stability, water repellent, low water absorption etc. We have three different products to meet customer's needs i.e. LR140, LR160, LR180.

Q1: Do rock wool boards contain hazardous substances like formaldehyde or crystalline silica?
A: Our standard rock wool boards are formaldehyde-free and comply with international health standards, such as the EU CE mark and US EPA regulations. Although trace amounts of crystalline silica may be naturally present, our products meet OEQ Class I (Ecological Quality Class) standards and are classified as non-carcinogenic under EU Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
Q2: What is the maximum service temperature of your rock wool boards?
A: Our standard boards have a continuous operating temperature range of 750°C (1382°F) to 1000°C (1832°F); depending on density (e.g., 120–200 kg/m³), they can withstand short-term peak temperatures of up to 1200°C (2192°F). For higher temperature requirements, please inquire about our ceramic fiber alternatives.
Q3: What densities are available for your rock wool boards?
A: Typical densities range from 60 kg/m³ (lightweight, for sound or thermal insulation backing layers) to 200 kg/m³ (high-strength, for furnace walls subject to mechanical loads). Higher density offers superior erosion resistance but relatively lower thermal shock resistance. We can provide recommendations based on your specific application.
