AZS33 AZS36 AZS41 Zirconium Corundum Brick Sintered AZS Brick For Glass Kilns Welding Cutting Refractory Glass Melting Furnace
Fused Cast AZS (Alumina-Zirconia-Silica) blocks are critical, high-performance refractory materials essential for glass melting furnaces. They are manufactured using high-purity raw materials—primarily pure alumina powder and zircon sand—resulting in a chemical composition centered on Al₂O₃, ZrO₂, and SiO₂. These products are created through an advanced industrial process where the raw mix is melted at extremely high temperatures (typically 1800–1900 °C) and then cast into shape, giving them a dense, homogeneous structure.
The key properties of AZS blocks stem from this fused cast manufacturing. They exhibit exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly against molten glass, making them the standard material for both the glass-contact zones (such as tank linings) and the superstructure of furnaces. Their performance is further characterized by high mechanical strength, excellent load-bearing capacity at high temperatures, good thermal shock resistance, and superior thermal conductivity.
Based on the ZrO₂ content (commonly 33%, 36%, or 41%), AZS bricks are classified into different grades, with higher zirconia content generally offering enhanced corrosion resistance and stability. This combination of high melting point, outstanding chemical inertness against acidic and alkaline fluxes, and superior erosion resistance solidifies their role as the most widely used and reliable refractory solution in the global glass industry.
